You're upstairs in a room that contains 3 switches. One of these switches controls the one light bulb downstairs while the other two do not. You only have one chance to go downstairs and check the light bulb at any time. How do you determine which switch controls the light bulb?
heard this before =P flip switch 1 on, wait five minutes. flip switch 1 off. flip switch 2 on. go downstairs. if the light is on, switch 2. if not, touch the lightbulb. if it is warm, it's switch 1. otherwise, it's switch 3
